What is the First-Time Home Buyers’ Tax Credit?

The First-Time Home Buyers’ Tax Credit is a tax credit of up to $750 against your income taxes in Canada if you qualify as a first-time home buyer. Disabled persons who would not ordinarily be considered first-time home buyers may also qualify for the credit. The credit applies only to home buyers who purchased their home after January 27, 2009.
